 Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Are you craving chocolate chip cookies? Welp, you've come to the right place. Here is a recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies. Add in your favorite fillings such as m&m's, pretzels, nuts etc and enjoy!

Ingredients:

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)

- 2 large eggs

- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 3/4 teaspoon salt

- 2- 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 355°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until it's light and fluffy, usually about 2-3 minutes.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix; this can lead to tough cookies.

6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

7. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart and chill for 30 minutes before baking.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. Do not over bake; the cookies will continue to set as they cool.

9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
